TV Mounting & Electrical Setup Over a Fireplace in Georgetown, Washington, DC
This Georgetown project involved preparing a fireplace wall for a secure wall-mounted TV installation, providing structural support for the mount, positioning power behind the television, and completing a clean finished installation with the TV centered above the fireplace.
The Project
The customer wanted the television mounted above an existing decorative fireplace in a Georgetown home. This type of installation requires planning for wall structure, power location, fireplace surround, and final TV position.
Artesoft prepared the wall, installed custom backing for additional support, coordinated the electrical connection behind the TV, installed the mount, and completed the final television installation.

What We Did
Fireplace TV Mounting
The television was positioned above the fireplace and aligned with the main wall.
Custom Structural Backing
Custom wood backing created a secure mounting surface for the TV bracket.
Power Behind the TV
Power was positioned at the television location for a clean finished installation.
Mount Installation & Final Setup
The hardware and television were installed, connected, positioned, and tested.
Why This Installation Needed Custom Preparation
Fireplace installations often involve finished trim, limited cable paths, and mounting conditions different from a standard flat wall. The custom backing provided a practical mounting surface while allowing the TV to be positioned correctly above the fireplace.
Installation Process
1. Wall & Mount Preparation
The wall and intended television position were evaluated.
2. Custom Backing Installed
Wood backing was secured across the installation area.
3. Electrical Access Prepared
Electrical access was brought to the TV area.
4. TV Mounted & Tested
